Many of the Style Attributes require a color value. There are several ways to specify a color. They are describe below.

Colors as Hexadecimal Values
Limelight uses the RGB (Red, Green, Blue) triad to define colors. In addition, Limelight applies an alpha (transparency) channel to its colors. Specifying an alpha value is optional. When using alpha, a value of 0 (no alpha) means fully transparent and a value of FF (255 in decimal, full alpha) means the color is opaque.
Full Hex Values
Each channel uses a 2 digit hex value ranging between 00 (0) and FF (255).
- #RRGGBB - Format using full hex values, without alpha
- #RRGGBBAA - Format using full hex values, with alpha
Lower and upper case letter are allowed.
Examples:
- red: #FF0000
- green: #00FF00
- blue: #0000FF
- yellow: #FFFF00
- translucent purple: #00FFFF88
Short Hex Values
Each channel uses one hex digit. The actual value applied is x * 16 + x or, the hex value "xx", where x is the single hex digit.
- #RGB - Format using short hex values, without alpha
- #RGBA - Format using short hex values, with alpha
So the value #89ab is equivalent to the full hex value #8899aabb.
Examples:
- red: #F00
- green: #0F0
- blue: #00F
- yellow: #FF0
- translucent purple: #0FF8
